These are my thoughts on book 2 (that I bought as part of the bundle). There were some things that were worsened in this book-- Evie lost her spine, the editors forgot how to spell, and Reed can be very rigid and cheesy. However, on total I really enjoyed this book. The adventures continued and some new bad guys appeared. It's still written as a stand-alone book with unresolved plots; no cliffhanger. I am excited to see what happens next.
Edit: I had a hard time writing this review initially, but I didn't know why (thus it's former blandness). Upon reflection, I am disappointed with the romance in this book. ****SPOILERS****
While Evie is more certain than ever that Russell is not the one, she doesn't seem all that into Reed either. This book reduces their former romance into something based entirely on proximity and that "fluttery" feeling they get. When reunited we should've seen sparks fly and lots of catching up and bonding. Instead, Evie is given no real choice in entering a binding (it feels really forced and unromantic). And, book 1 (and the start of book 2) is full of all of this really over-the-top lovely, passionate build-up to Evie and Reed making love. Then the end of book 2 pulls a really bad version of Twilight-- it tries to mimic the "yay we did it" moment without getting graphic, but, unfortunately it really fails. At least in Twilight there were no details at all (so you can imagine whatever you want), followed by a really beautiful depiction of the feelings involved. In this book, the build-up is put in motion and then there is no artful "blackout" or other such mechanism. The story goes on, simply omitting details which leaves the reader absolutely confused and wondering "did it happen or not?" Then comes the sentence that goes something like "we made love for the 2nd time." It answered the question but it was SO unsatisfactory because there was literally ZERO emotion. No wonder, no awe, no memorable "I love you," no feelings. At all. An author doesn't have to be graphic to portray epic romance; but they should give us some emotions other than "a fluttery feeling," "withdrawal like depression," and a "we did it" sentence. I don't think an author has disappointed me SO much since Breaking Dawn (all that exciting maneuvering and build-up for...nothing special). It was severely anti-climactic. And, had the REST of the book been as terrible, I would be returning them. However, I only took 1 star away from this because the author has shown that she can do at least superficial feelings and romance. So I am still hopeful that she can turn it around. Give Evie and Reed's romance a foundation more solid than a "fluttery feeling."
4 stars. Nope, 3 stars.

Intuition The Premonition Series Book 2 edition by Amy A Bartol Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
This one was wishy washy for me. Some characters are developed and well thought out (mainly the "background" characters) and others are your general run-of-the-mill Mary Sues that bring nothing to the story, but seem to get all the focus (-cough-Evie-cough-). I honestly think this book/series could have been good if the author chose pretty much any of her other characters to follow aside from Evie. She's too self-sacrificing and matyrific for my tastes and I was honestly tired of hearing about how "strong" and great she was while she was getting tossed around. Can't handle the additional love interests etc etc etc. I don't know why authors need their characters to be loved by every male they come across, but it is a tiresome trend.
Anyways, if you ignore Evie, the main protagonist, the book is quite good. However, since its from Evie's POV there is quite a bit of ignoring one has to do to get to that conclusion.
This is essentially a very emotionally watered down bad imitation of twilight saga.
It's the first time that I see the hero of the story is just a secondary character and the secondary mail role take all the glory. How is the reader supposed feel excited by this relationship? She defends Reed like it is an obligation not like what she actually wants to do, while she defends Russel like a little brother, and feels like she's just leading him on.
The lovers are all talk, very uninspired at that, and have rarely an intimate moment alone together. All she seems to worry about is everyone else. No special treatment for the the hero. It's always talk of him AND his friend, which is treated as equally important!
All in all, not very strong on the romance side of things.
I mostly agree with the two star review I read earlier. The 1st book was good enough to make me buy the second book, but having finished it, it did wear thin in quite a few places. The martyr complex the main character is stuck in did drone on till I thought she should just die already. The new bad guy was interesting but the fight scenes where she threw her weapons away before she tries to run, then feels so bad about killing in self defense that she lets him bite her, was a real whaaat? moment. I felt like telling her she should put on her big girl panties, suck it up and get out of there while killing as many of them as possible. Then the poor sap of a soul mate has to come and get her out before she bites the big one. She is supposedly the highest order and the soul mate has to tell her to train as a fighter since she keeps getting into trouble everyone else has to pull her out? Sorry but I am going to look for a new series to start or wait till I am desperate for anything to read that I might try another one of these books...nah, I don't think I could stand it! Besides, I read the intro to the next addition and I can see the martyr complex already taking over...oh woe my friend is hostage to the bad guy and just how bad is your timing that you get to see your friend come under his influence just when you decide to contact her. Come on, seriously?
