This is the fourth book in this series which takes place in Icicle Falls, Washington, the home town of author Muriel Sterling. She has written a book titled Simplicity which is a guide to just plain living. It becomes a very important helpful tool in the lives of sisters, Jen and Toni. Jen is single but decides to leave a very profitable but stressful life and move to Icicle Falls. She wants to live a quite life with no distractions but soon finds one big one. Her landlord, Garrett Armstrong, is so sexy and she is drawn to him like a magnet. Love finds a way to draw them together.
Her sister, Toni, is married with two children and a very busy husband who spend all his time on his computer. The family seems to have no quality time together anymore so she decides to remedy that problem by renting a cabin for two weeks in the area of Icicle Falls. Everyone is ask to give up cell phones, video games, and computers while on this trip. It is very interesting how each member of the family copes. You find yourself smiling at times and cheering for Toni to achieve her goal.

Another hit by Sheila Roberts. The fourth book of Icicle Falls, but can be read as a stand alone. I love going back to this quaint town in the mountains. The book club women read the book, Simplicity on how to simplify your life including newcomer, Jen. This is a wonderful read on how the women go about simplifying their lives along with the friendship of these women. Add in the romance of Jen and her new landlord, fireman Garrett, you will have the perfect read.
This is another exciting journey into the town of Icicle Falls, a small town in the Pacific Northwest! This series is so enjoyable and fun to read. Sheila is a great storyteller, and this installment in her series features favorite characters, as well as introducing a new character in town, Jen Heath.

I am sorry that I've finished this one, and that I have to wait for the next one! Hope she's busy at work on it. If you haven't read Sheila's books yet, time to find the whole series and get busy!
I am a Sheila Roberts fan, so her books are auto buy for me. This one didn't disappoint! If you have ever thought that chucking it all and moving to a cabin in the woods this book is for you. Sheila has imagined a small town nestled in the mountains of Washington State. But this town is real, and so much fun to be a part of. Every character has a story and this story is full of character.

There are tidbits in each chapter on how to simplify your life. One of my favorites details how to go thru your closet and get rid of all those "I have a dream" dresses that haven't been worn in years. Don't deprive yourself of an a wonderful opportunity to become friends with the community of Icicle Falls.

I really enjoyed that each chapter starts with a tidbit on simplifying life from Muriel Sterling's guidebook Simplicity, which then leads into the stories of how each of the ladies in the book club are inspired to make changes in their lives based on the helpful information from the guidebook. The reader easily gets drawn into this story about friendship, support, and finding balance and simplicity in one's life. Through the laughter, smile, and tears, you'll find yourself cheering on these lovely ladies as they each overcome obstacles and strive to find joy in their lives. The author's thoughtful message about discovering what's important in life and shedding what isn't, and learning to enjoy a full and simple life is one that will make you ponder what changes you can make in your own life.

With a wonderful cast of characters who are realistic and lovable, humorous dialogues and interactions, and a richly detailed description of the town of Icicle Falls, The Cottage on Juniper Ridge is a lighthearted romance story full of love, laughter, friendship, and living a good life, that will leave you wanting to return to Icicle Falls for another enjoyable visit. I love, love, love this series!
